We are looking forward to seeing you on Yangtze River, the longest river in China and Asia and the third longest in the world, with a length of 3,915 miles.
Introducing your Yangtze Team
Hi, I am Tony Bugg and I’m the Subcamp Leader for Yangtze River. I have many roles in Scouting, but my main ones are as an Assistant Scout Leader and Activities Instructor in the Maldon and East Essex District. I am also a Guide Unit Helper at a unit in Billericay, where my wife is the Guide Leader.
This will be my 8th Essex International Jamboree and 3rd as Subcamp Leader.
I am looking forward to leading the subcamp with my team, which is made up of both Scouters and Guiders from around the UK and even one from Australia!
My Deputy is Becky More. Becky has volunteered on Subcamp Teams on 7 previous Essex International Jamborees and has had a few different roles in Scouting, and previously in Girlguiding. Currently, Becky is a District Appointments Secretary for Colchester Estuary District.
As a Team we will be running a Subcamp Hub and Help Desk and be on hand to help sort out issues that come up or answer questions you might have. The Subcamp Hub will be a central point for leaders to come and get information, grab a coffee and chill if need be.
The Subcamp Hub will also be a central point for participants to find out information or to try out our Subcamp Activity Challenge.
