Nile Subcamp

Welcome to our wonderful Nile Subcamp named after one of the longest rivers in the world, stretching over 4,000 miles. There is some debate between whether the Nile is longer than the Amazon or vice versa - so we're celebrating both Subcamps at Essex!!

The Nile flows through 11 countries - Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea, South Sudan, Sudan and Egypt. We have chosen to focus our Subcamp on Egypt as more than 95% of the population depends on the Nile’s water, living within a few miles of its banks.

Introducing the Nile Subcamp Team

The team is led by Jason Barnes. It's Jason's first time as a Subcamp Leader at Essex, and really looking forward to working with an incredible team made up of experienced and knowledgable Scouters and Guiders from across the UK as well as few from overseas.

We look forward to welcoming you to Nile.
