Role Overview

Ensure EIJ 2028 is shaped with young people, not just for them, by embedding youth voice at every stage of the event. Champion a genuinely youth-led approach across all areas of the Jamboree. This is a joint position, with one postholder from Girlguiding UK and one from The Scout Association.

Responsibilities

• Champion youth voice across all areas of the Jamboree, ensuring decisions reflect young people's perspectives
• Create simple, meaningful ways for young people to share ideas, influence plans and provide feedback
• Work alongside the Exec to challenge assumptions and maintain focus on what young people actually want
• Support and empower young people to take on visible leadership roles within the event
• Act as the bridge between young people and the Exec, ensuring voices are heard, understood and acted on

Who we are looking for

Individuals with a strong belief in youth-led approaches and the confidence to advocate for them. Exceptional listening and communication skills, alongside a good understanding of both Girlguiding UK and The Scout Association, are required. The ability to influence and challenge constructively is needed, along with creativity in engaging young people in different and inspiring ways.
