Role Overview

Provide logistical marshalling support across event activities at EIJ 2028, ensuring the safe and smooth running of operations throughout the site. Recruit and manage section leads, liaise with other directorates as the programme develops, and produce the procedures and risk assessments needed to support a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Report directly to the Director and Deputy Director of Response.

Responsibilities

• Lead the marshalling team to provide logistical support across event activities
• Manage the daily coordination of marshalling operations throughout the event
• Recruit and interview section leads ahead of the event
• Organise and manage groups of staff volunteers to ensure effective marshalling coverage
• Liaise with other directorates as programme and event planning develops
• Write and maintain procedures, policies and risk assessments for marshalling activities
• Promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants, staff and visitors
• Respond to operational incidents and escalate as required
• Attend planning meetings and respond to communications in a timely and professional manner

Who we are looking for

Logical, driven and calm individuals with experience in event marshalling, stewarding or operational coordination. The ability to manage volunteer teams and respond effectively under pressure is required. Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise across multiple directorates are needed. An approachable manner and a genuine commitment to delivering a safe, positive experience for all at EIJ 2028 are essential.
