Role Overview

Plan, deliver and manage all aspects of the bar venue at EIJ 2028, providing a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks during evening operations. Oversee entry control, stock management and shift patterns, and support wider daytime operations as required. Lead a team of volunteers aged 18 and over, ensuring they are well-supported, organised and confident in their roles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the overall layout and theming of the venue
• Organise and manage drinks provision, including stock ordering, storage and service
• Work effectively within an agreed budget
• Develop and manage shift patterns, ensuring adequate coverage at all times
• Delegate tasks clearly and ensure team members understand their responsibilities
• Carry out risk assessments and enforce all relevant safety procedures
• Collaborate closely with other Programme Teams and Directorates
• Attend planning meetings and respond to communications in a timely and professional manner

Who we are looking for

Organised individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse volunteer team. Proven or developing people management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are needed. Experience in bar or hospitality management is beneficial. A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a clear focus on delivering a safe and enjoyable experience, is required.
