Role Overview

Essex International Jamboree 2028 is committed to involving under-25s from Girlguiding and Scouting in planning for the Jamboree. We are looking for youth representatives (aged 18 - 25) to work within directorates to help shape decisions throughout the planning of the event.

• You must be 18 - 25 with your 26th Birthday after 1st August 2028
• You will be required to attend Directorate meetings and stay in touch with other volunteers

There are opportunities available in all the following directorates:

• Registration: Manages the registration system, participant/staff data, fees, international support and transport arrangements.
• Programme: Creates and delivers the daytime, evening, international, staff and village programmes, including major events, ceremonies and main-stage activities.
• Subcamps: Leads the participant and staff subcamp experience, including welfare, safeguarding, inclusion, and support before and during the event.
• Retail: Manages EIJ’s retail operation, warehouse, concessions, online shop, event merchandise and food and drink vendors
• Response: Oversees operational safety and response, including fire, food and hygiene safety, first aid, traffic, car parks, security, marshalling and council liaison.
• Facilities: Delivers and maintains the physical site, including infrastructure, utilities, site services, layout, landowner liaison and staff facilities.
• Media & Communications: Keeps participants, leaders, staff and the wider public informed through the website, social media, helpdesk, and captures the event week through photo, video, newsletters
