Role Overview

Plan and lead all aspects of traffic and vehicle management at EIJ 2028, ensuring the safe interaction between vehicles and pedestrians on and around the jamboree site. Develop parking structures, vehicle routing and emergency access plans to support smooth and safe operations across the build, event and takedown phases. Report directly to the Director and Deputy Director of Response.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a safe and logical parking structure for the jamboree site
  • Develop and manage site vehicular route layouts, including emergency access routes
  • Plan and oversee daily visitor intake and manage arrival and departure logistics
  • Contribute to the evolution of the site layout from a traffic management perspective
  • Produce and maintain policies, procedures and risk assessments for all traffic management activities
  • Ensure safe interaction between vehicles and pedestrians throughout the event
  • Lead and manage the traffic management team throughout the pre-event and event phases
  • Liaise with other Response teams and relevant directorates on access and movement plans
  • Attend planning meetings and respond to communications in a timely and professional manner

Who we are looking for

Calm, resourceful and logical individuals with experience in traffic management, event logistics or site planning. A methodical approach and the ability to design clear, practical solutions for vehicle and pedestrian movement are required. Strong written skills for producing policies, procedures and risk assessments are needed. An approachable manner and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are essential.
