Role Overview
Lead the planning, delivery and operation of retail services at EIJ 2028. Ensure a positive retail experience for participants, staff and visitors while maintaining accurate stock control and efficient operations. Manage the retail volunteer team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable retail services throughout the event.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a welcoming, efficient retail experience aligned with jamboree values
- Oversee retail space layout, presentation and customer flow
- Ensure high standards of customer service across all retail points
- Work with communications and branding teams to maintain consistent visual identity
- Lead all aspects of stock management including ordering, storage and distribution
- Forecast stock requirements based on attendance and sales trends
- Maintain accurate stock records before, during and after the event
- Coordinate stock replenishment and transfers between retail points
- Minimise stock loss, waste and discrepancies
- Recruit, brief and manage the retail volunteer team
- Create rotas with deputies for each shift
- Provide training on retail systems and processes
- Respond to customer feedback and resolve issues during the event
- Support end-of-event stock counts and reporting
- Work with Retail Directors on stock range and quantities
- Contribute to risk assessments and operational planning
- Attend planning meetings as required
Who we are looking for
Organised individuals with experience in retail, stock control or operations. Confident team leaders who communicate clearly and remain calm in busy environments are needed. Basic financial awareness and attention to detail are required. This role can be job-shared.
