IIIIIt's Thursdaaay!

It's World Scout Scarf/Necker/Neckie (delete as appropriate) Day! Be sure to go out there and wear your Scarf/Necker/Neckie with pride – not just because you'll get told off if you don't.

In other news, it has been 0 days since we last broke the eij.org.uk website, where you can find even more amazing content from the jamboree site. And by 'we' here I mean I, the editor of The River Reader. Whoops? That counter hasn't gotten above 1 yet, but our velociraptor incident counter is going great – it's almost been a week!

Be aware, there's a thunderstorm warning out there at the moment folks, with rain predicted to arrive probably around the time this masterpiece makes it to your inbox. But I'm sure it'll be fine - it's not like we have a tall radio mast on site or anything.

Today's Wikipedia rabbit hole: the friendship knot. Are you the one person in your group who knows how to do it? Well, turns out it's one of the eleven basic knots in traditional Chinese knotting! Why don't you take the time today to learn how to tie one, so you can be the one everyone else asks to tie their Scarf/Necker/Neckie for them!

I wonder, does anyone actually read these? Am I just wasting my precious time on this small insignificant little blue rock that we call home? Or is that a bit too existential for a Thursday edition of The River Reader? Let us know by tagging us on your socials! You can find links to all of them at the bottom of this newsletter.

Time to Rock like it's Glaston-boree

Wednesday night saw our participants rocking out in our main arena to two fantastic acts. Redonizm opened with a rocking rendition of ‘Chelsea Dagger’ that drew our participants in and rapidly the field was bopping! When the fabulous Channy took over later in the evening our main area, the party was well and truly underway.

Subcamp Challenge

The subcamp challenge is an exciting and challenging way to spend the afternoon. To do this you have to walk around each Subcamp completing the activities, for which they will reward you by giving you a stamp. Once you have completed each challenge you will head back to your subcamp hub and get a ‘Noa’ sticker and a badge.
