Why not take a leisurely stroll down to Mississippi Subcamp, you won’t be out of your depth here. Being the second longest river in America reaching 2,340 metres; you will be in for an adventure for sure!
The gateways of the groups illustrate the variety of continental States and the Canadian provinces; especially the 2nd Guernsey Scouts! Some participants have described the subcamp to be ‘great experience, and loved the challenges!’
The Subcamp team oozes passion, kindness and enthusiasm which is consistent with the engagement from Subcamp participants. A highly decorative boat welcomes you as you walk through the Subcamp, allowing participants to engage by turning the paddle steamers. The Subcamp team are always looking for improvement by introducing a 2 stars and a stripe system. This is a reflection on the days activities and allows participants to express their positives and negatives surrounding activities.
An American staff member present on the Subcamp is very fitting for the occasion and has been described by participants as ‘the best Subcamp leader ever, ‘caring and willing to help others’. Little ducks have been appearing across the Subcamp as acts of kindness for participants, allowing them to swap and get to know other people within their Subcamp.
