Walking through the subcamp feels as if I’m walking through ancient Egypt, but I’m as tall as the tents . . . I mean pyramids.
The hub walls are decorated with so many hieroglyphics and ancient artworks that I'm sure Cleopatra would feel right at home. The Nile Subcamp hub team said “we have the coldest Subcamp hub” and a “whole refreshments table” however I’m not sure how accurate to ancient Egypt that is… The Subcamp team said they all have an “unhealthy addiction to coffee” - not very smart to have a whole table of it then hmm?
Displayed on their hub notice board are many, many signs talking about safety and rules (#SafestSubcamp?) but also on that notice board - the only non safety related sign - is one displaying the words ‘use toilet paper wisely’. I wonder if there’s been a shortage, or perhaps a peak in mummification!
The hub team said they are so generous they are sparing their young people from the heat when it comes to their Subcamp challenge. But for any more info, you'll have to make the trip out there yourself!
The Nile river is 6,650 km long, spanning all across Africa before flowing into the Mediterranean sea. Officially, it's the longest of our subcamp rivers and the longest river in the world, just barely beating the Amazon! However, that is still up for debate.
If you aren’t in denial, then why not be in the Nile!
