Last night was a sea (or a river) of neon colour, did you spot the 90s outfits, tutu’s, coloured paint and wigs? The House of Music was alive with beams of coloured lights and music attracting people in like moths to a flame. I managed to pull a few people away from the fun to ask them how their night was going. Flo, Emma, Evie, Rose, Jess and Sophie from Goddington Rangers were ready for neon night all in their matching tutu’s, fishnet gloves, glow sticks and neon accessories. “I love dressing up and matching with my friends” said Flo above the noise.

Josh, Josh and Henry from 4^th Denton Scouts were dressed and ready in their 90s gear, Josh even had a blow-up boom box to add to the 90s aesthetic. “We wanted to go all out for our last Jamboree as youth”. Both groups had an amazing night even saying, “the energy was unreal and unmatched.” The Goddington Rangers “would still go full out, matching, but do more, like putting UV colour in my hair” so it sounds like next time there is a neon night they are going to go big or go home. I don’t know if you saw the Scouts from 7^th Honor, who went all out in many ways, did you see the neon Lorax? 

Since we all knew the kids were having a blast, I thought we should know what a leader thought of neon night. We all know Aussies like to party, so I managed to speak to Jackie from Newcastle Guides (Australia) who loved the atmosphere in the House of Music. Before she stepped onto the dance floor she was “keen for fun dance vibes” and ready for one of her favourite songs to play “untouched”. Jackie loved to see “everyone with their cool outfits and glow sticks” and she found “it’s a huge and awesome way to boost friendships and celebrate together”. If we still haven’t convinced you to get your neon gear ready for the next Jamboree, just ask Jackie who called it “too cool to pass!”.
