Essential Food Safety Training for Staff Handling, Preparing, and Serving Food

To ensure the safety and well-being of everyone at the Jamboree, all staff members involved in handling, preparing, or serving food, including front-of-house staff in the restaurant, are required to complete all parts of Section 1 (A, B, and C) following online food safety training.

Managers and team leaders must also complete Section 2.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this training. You'll be supporting in providing a safe and enjoyable Jamboree experience for all participants.

Section 1 : Training for Staff, Managers, and Team Leaders (Food Service)

Part A : Food Safety Awareness (1 hour)

Gain an understanding of food safety principles, including:

  • Introduction to food safety
  • Food safety legislation
  • Hazards (physical, chemical, microbiological, allergenic)
  • Personal hygiene
  • Key food safety controls

Part B : Allergen Awareness and Control (35 mins)

Learn how to deal with food sensitivities effectively, covering:

  • Introduction to food allergies and intolerances
  • Health effects of food allergies and intolerances
  • Sources and cross-contamination routes for allergens
  • Providing accurate allergen information
  • Good practice and management for food allergy and intolerance control

Part C : Assessment

Complete a short assessment to confirm your knowledge of food safety and allergen control as well as recording your attendance. To complete this, click the button below.


Section 2 : Additional Training for Managers and Team Leaders (Food Service)

Managers and team leaders responsible for food service operations have an additional responsibility to ensure food safety standards. Following the completion of the above modules, please complete all parts of this section (A and B).
