Welcome to Westwood's Wardrobe
Stylish, chic, elegant, glamorous…not usually words you associate with camp. However, this will all change on Westwood’s Wardrobe this summer!!
Fashion through the ages is our theme and we plan to transform our corner of a muddy field into a fashion extravaganza fit for Victoria Beckham, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Mary Quant and Vivienne Westwood herself! With mood boards, catwalks and paparazzi, it’ll be like you are at one of the world’s biggest fashion events.
Look out for our wardrobes filled with costumes and be prepared to strut your stuff and strike a pose!!
I have been involved in Scouting for 23 years during which I’ve held various positions starting within the Cub Section then moving to Explorers. I was District Explorer Scout Commissioner for Thurrock for 10 years and am now the Assistant County Commissioner for Explorer Scouts in Essex.
In 2012 I was the Subcamp Leader for Pyramid Subcamp and in 2008, I was part of the Elephant Subcamp Team, I have also run subcamps at Wintac, Giga Camp and Mega Camp which are County Camps for Cubs, Scouts and Explorers in Essex.
My family are all involved in Scouting, my husband John is a District Scout Leader and County Scout Leader, I have four children: 3 daughters and 1 Son all of whom are also involved in Scouting; my youngest daughter is 12 and is a Scout and my other daughters are 14 and 17 and my son is 15 and are all Explorer Scouts.
I chose to be involved in Subcamps for this Jamboree in order to ensure that all the young people and Leaders have a fantastic experience and get to make friendships that will last a lifetime.
I’m Vicky and I’m the Deputy Subcamp Leader for Westwood’s Wardrobe.
My job will be to make sure that everything runs smoothly on your Subcamp, as it will be your home for the week, and to answer any questions that you may have.
I’m currently a Guide Leader in Shenfield (Essex) but have also been a Brownie Guide Leader in the UK. When I lived in France I was a Cub/Brownie Leader for ‘Scouts et Guides de France’.
I love Scout and Guide camps – especially Jamborees. I was lucky enough to attend both EuroJam 2005 and the World Scout Jamboree 2007. As for EIJ, I have attended every Jamboree since 1996, either as a participant, a leader or a member of a Subcamp team. I love it!!! It is always great fun and I have made some life-long friends along the way.
See you soon!!
Down to a Tee!
A Jamboree truly isn’t a Jamboree until you’ve donned your camp t-shirt emblazoned with the EIJ logo proud for all to see. You were there, the Essex International Jamboree 2016.
Once again Jamart, EIJ’s very own retailers, will be opening their doors (and webpages) for you to get your fill of those Jamboree wardrobe essentials. This year there is a range of tees, onsies and other clothing options, for you to shout about the event as a whole or showcase your sub-camp allegiance.

Together with clothing options abundant, Jamart will be offering an exciting range of souvenirs, everything from woggles and phonecases to shoelaces and special limited edition teddies. Plus, for the sweet toothed among you the range will not miss out treats to satisfy, whether it is a chilled drink or cheeky packet of sweeties. Over at Westwood’s Wardrobe we have set a challenge for our participants. We’ve called it ‘l’armoire de désaccord’ which is French for wardrobe of contention.
