Who’s Already Involved?

Jamboree Chiefs Paul and Karen take the lead again for the 2020 event, ensuring this is truly a joint Scouting and Girlguiding experience. They are pleased to announce the appointment of the members of Essex International Jamboree Executive for 2020.

James Howell – Director of Programme

The Programme directorate will be building on the success of 2016, by providing an exciting, challenging, entertaining & inclusive programme of activities and events for all our participants. From the moment participants arrive on site to the final closing ceremony the programme team will be providing memories & experiences that will last a lifetime.

Rachel Kemp and Nicola Hills – Joint Directors of Event Services

This new directorate for 2020 brings together registration, subcamps, international support, information sharing, online engagement (website, social media, newsletters) and staff support. Our mission is to ensure everyone is well-informed, well-equipped and ready for a fantastic fun filled Jamboree.

Maxine Jones – Director of Media & Marketing

This new directorate is responsible for publicising EIJ2020, encouraging more participants and staff to the Jamboree, getting sponsorship, building the excitement, providing media support and coverage during the event.

Michael “Del” Hales – Director of Facilities

The Facilities directorate are responsible for providing the infrastructure needed to turn our green field into a fully functioning tented village as well as providing the teams that keep our site clean and tidy.

Spencer Pardoe – Director of Safety

The Safety directorate are responsible for advising staff and participants on staying safe while having a fantastic week of fun. They also provide our security team and medical staff.

Chris Dear – Director of Retail (Finance)

The Retail (Finance) directorate are responsible for our retail outlets, Food Warehouse and other retail operations.

Dave Dryden – Chief Executive Support Officer

Our much loved Chief Driver from 2016 returns for 2020 with an expanded role as Chief Executive Support Officer. Don’t worry, he’ll still be driving the Chief’s golf buggy.
